Behind you... Naked!
I got 2 laptops here. Both are capable on a basic level of gaming ( sort of )

One is a HP Pavillion DV6 Its a 1.6Ghz i7, the other is a Samsung RV515 with a 1.6Ghz AMD APU.

Now, the I7 I do play basic games... I really only play Dawn of War series and it manages it for the most part quite well, but could do with more oomph.

The Samsung on the other hand is quite awful in the CPU area and yet the graphics on that APU are seemingly capable... Just limited by the CPU side of it.

Is there any way to overclock it?

Is there any way to overclock the I7 too?

there is NOTHING in the BIOS to help me, and no tools on their respective homepages that I have found, so im just wondering really?

Thanks in advance.

Usually laptop BIOS'es are locked, so you are out of luck on overclocking unfortunately.

They are thermally designed to run on the limit anyway, to be cheap, so there wouldn't be much benefit anyway.

Join the master race, buy a desktop PC. Laptops are for work only.

Join the master race ?

LOL Look at my sig, its right there!

I have only bought these laptops for a giggle and I only ever use them when I go out to the town, and I sit in costa cos Im bored at home, no other reason.

One is for Windows and the other for Linux. but both could be a snatch quicker.

Irritatingly, I have a HP 6730B too and that, while only a 2.5Ghz C2D, is a lot snappier than even the I7 and by a fairly huge margin too, but with intel GFX its also utterly useless at any form of gaming.

Now, I would be very happy with that CPU if I also had the GFX capabilities of the others.... Both ATI, even if thy are Mobiles.
