Overclocking memory

Post specs! if youv overclocked your processor then your memory could be a bottleneck, but if youv overclocked your processor, youv most likely overclocked your ram lol :) well unless youv changed multipliers etc.

Gaming really, i already have plenty of ram, the question is simply to satisfy my inquisitive mind,

CPU: AMD phenom 9950 BE clocked to 3.0 ghz just via the multiplier
Memory: 8 gig OCZ XTC gold 800 mhz
Motherboard: Asus crosshair

need to know owt else?

Oh I take it that is 4 x 2gb of ram? If so you might have trouble getting it higher than 800mhz as it puts more strain on the NB.

You can try lowering the multiplayer on the cpu, and raising the FSB. You might need more voltage for the ram, but be careful to not put too much through the ram. Then test with Prime95 / Memtest.

Yea, 4 x 2gb, and i'll try that, with 8 gig there is probably no need for me to overclock the memory tho i take it?
