Hi Guys,

Quick question , i have corsair dominator GT CMG6GX3M3A1866C7 kit and am looking to overclock the memory slightly, the timings currently are 7-8-7-20 and i was wondering if i up the voltage and go for 7-7-7-24 would that be stable?

Not had much experience playing with memory clocks so some advice would be appreciated, what voltage do you think i should go for on these?

Just give it a go and run memtest to check for stability. I personally would try changing the timings before increasing the V. Only increase the voltage if you need it to get it stable.

I have no experience with that specific memory I am afraid so I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will know or often the manufacturers website will have a forum with a memory OCing section that you could post on...

The only way to find out is to try it (every module is different). It's only a small adjustment so I would have thought so. GTs are quite flexible anyway.

Just curious, why are you pushing for C7 1866, why not C8 2000?

Because I have 0 exprience clocking memory and wouldnt know where to start, CPU is fairly straight forward and there are lots of explanations everywhere but memory is somewhat less clear

Imo it is actually easier to tweak the speed rather than the latency, then again the speed of memory coincides with the speed of your CPU. At least it is with the Core 2 generation, I'm not completely sure how overclocking works with the i7 generation.

EnderXi how'd you get on? I have a similar set up to you and was gonna try and clock my ram this weekend. what did you change in bios?
