Overclocking my AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ ???

Hi . I have a AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+and i was wanting to Overclock it My Mainboard is a Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Model GA-7VAX-A
BIOS Vendor Award Software International, Inc.
BIOS Version KT400 - 42302e31

I have tryed it and it seems to work fine running at 2600+ speeds ,but my benchmarks were an average of 4600 on 3dmark 03 i have a XFX 5900xt card.
When i set CPU to defult i got score of 5500 ???Why is this ? What am i doing wrong?

So how do i get the most out of overclocking my CPU with a KT 400.

Why is it that when i try to overclock my CPU the AGP goes up?Whats the reason behind it?

Hi thanks for advice.My memory is PC3200 1Gig.
My CPU is a thougherbred 2400xp. would this work as a 2700xp? i have a massive fan on cpu and about 2 or 3 case fans.
