Hey everyone,

Im currently overclocking my e8400 and have got it to 3.6 stable with just a FSB Boost, heres my specs:

ASUS striker 2 formula
E8400
695/70
TX 650
4GB Ballistix DDR2

ive got the e8400 running prime95 at 3.8 (422x9) with a 1.4v core however 1.4 is above the recommended max (the recommended max is 1.365) but i can get it stable at 1.365, i changed the timings when i upped the vcore to 1.4 from 5-5-5-18 to 4-4-4-18 so once prime is done ill switch it back to 1.365v and run it again as it couldve been the timings? someone else has got 4.6Ghz on 1.4v from 515x9, so im not too sure if he's lieing or has a golden chip, my temps are fine and arent touching 60 (about 58 and 51 on core 1 and 2) so is there anything i can do to get the most out of the e8400 without cranking up the volts past 1.365?

Many thanks Guys :)

P.S: ignore the sig, its old and needs to be changed

Best I got out of mine (24/7 stable) was 4.05GHz (450x9) any higher than that needed what I class as 'silly volts'

That said, even at 4.05 it was at 1.5v in bios and ~1.43v in windows

Temps (with clean dust filters in the HAF lol) were good, around mid-high 20's at idle and low 70's under IBT

In all honesty, I didn't notice much performance increase with 4.0 over 3.8, I thought about clocking it down a bit to save voltage/temps, but I couldn't live with seeing 3.* after having it at 4.* for so long lol

lol well prime95 just finished with 1 error on worker 1 so i think its the memory, so im gunna put the volts back to 1.36 and run memtest :P
I had it at 3.6 since i got it (4months ago) and only now i decided to try and get some more out of the chip as its gunna be a long time until i get an upgrade :P
