Hi there!

Just got my Opteron 144 and Powercolor X800 installed in my new EP-9NPAJ.

Overclocking, firstly cpu multi wouldn't lower, so I tested and it would go no further than 248 x 9. Odd I thought. After that it would just reset the fsb/htt to 200mhz (safe mode).

BIOS update later, and the cpu multi lowered to 6x. Still the board won't go over 245mhz. The ram speed was lowered so it's not the cpu or the ram.

Could it be the PCI-E slot is overclocking and its the X800 reseting the fsb/htt (seems unlikely to me)? (I have no spare PCI or PCIE card)

Could it be the PSU?? (also seems unlikely,as the main power consumers are clocked down)

I've tried the htt multi down to 1x.
I've tried chipset voltage up to max.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Not really, if you had 4 sticks of ram that is well known to limit the memory controller on athlon 64s and hence the overclock...

Was gonna even my 3200+ does 250x10
