Hi, I need some help please on overclocking my opteron 146 ^_^ Its a cacje stepping so it should be alright :o

Well, now I have just recently bought my DDR500 G skill RAM. Now Im currently running at 2.5Ghz with the divider at 2/2. So my rams currently stable at DDR500. FSB is set to 250, multi x10, HTT x3.

So is there anything I can do to increase speed?

Oh and If i go above 2.5~2.6 on the fsb, then my compy beeps at me like mad and forces me to clear the cmos.

Thanks for the advice in advance :D

1)u could try lowering the divider so that u could up the fsb on the cpu.
2)putting more volts in the ram and seeing it will go any higher

could do with knowing what board you have as well to see if there is any special tweakd etc.

could sometimes up the HTT as asus boards get a bit funny and sometimes work better with higher.(well mine does as it only likes to be on x5 :) )
could also try then to play with the mutli and fsb to see what is highest and most stable.

and finally you could try tweaking the timings on the ram as this 'can' see a difference in speed with certain applications.

hope that helped!

Can anyone else help me?

Ive gotten it up to atm

2.75ghz 1.5v with DDR500. 2/1.83 divider. x10 Multiplyer. Timings 3-4-4-8, 2.7v

Can i get it any further?

put the ram divider down to the lowest setting so yu can get an idea of what the fsb will go up to.

as mentioned vcore can go up to 1.6 check you're dimm/vdimm voltages try different ones, if its the gskill 4000 use a low voltage to start with it appears to prefer it over high voltages.

Prime95 wont run for more than 10 seconds :S on any of the torture tests, yet my pc has been running fine all evening :o Evenplayed some Bf2, CS and gunz......strange o.O
