Hey guys, im not a first timer to overclocking but this new system has confused me so much i thought id just save myself the bother and ask the pros.

Ok so iv got a Abit Fatality, 6300, 2gb geil ram. I just cant seem to get it to boot the moment i touch the FSB..

settings i tried;

unLinked or linked?
FSB up by anything and it dont boot.
mem 2.1v
cpu 1.35v
nb 1.35
multiplyer is 7x if thats what that multiplyer is on that page.

changed all my mem settings around and still wont boot.

I seriously must be missing something here. When i clocked my p4 it looked almost the same, up the fsb and make sure the volts go up abit. Make sure your ram settings are ok and keep going up and up. But i cant even go up 1 bit yet, Hence why i think im doing it wrong..

Thanks for your help

up the voltage by 1 step on ram core and nb then try it
also there must be a setting you are overlooking.

1.5v is a bit high for an e6300. I wouldn't go any higher than 1.45v for the meantime.

ok lowered the cpu v 1.325

iv got it running at 2.24 fsb is 4:3? It wont even boot on default settings at 1:1.

ram 4-4-4-16

i cant seem to get the muliplyer higher than x7? says i can enter 1-30 but it always shows 7 on cpu-z and when i go back in bios its back to x7.

bios update?

is there anyway i can update bios without using a FD?

Well it's 5-5-5-15 by default. I would leave them at that for the meantime.

400x7 with the vcore at no more than 1.45v and the vdimm at 2.1v should be no problem for the e6300.

Do Abit have a Windows based BIOS flash utility.
