I'm a complete newb to this overclocking thing. Wanted to do it for a while, and have had my PC up and running for a while now, but never really got round to it. Well, no time like the present I reckon!

I'm using Vista x64, and I'm wondering if there's anything I should know, or if there are even any specific guides for x64 out there, that may take into account any monitoring or other useful programmes that won't work on this OS (if there are any)?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My system spec is as follows;

Intel E6600 2.4GHz (w/Tuniq Tower cooler)
2Gb Team DDR2 PC2-6400 Xtreem Micron 4-4-4-10
Intel Bad Axe 2 motherboard
BFG 8800 GTX

:confused:

The only real problem I had was getting CoreTemp to run under x64... - 5 minutes with Google should get you a batch file to load the drivers before you launch CoreTemp.

Everything is done outside the operating system, apart from stress-testing and monitoring, so other than CoreTemp, I can't see you having any problem.

Hope this helps.

I only just started clocking, have the same chip as you.

Upto 3.42GHz on air. Think thats as far as I can go due to temps.
you have different mobo to me, so cant give you any tips I got for mine.
