Hello Everyone

Im new to this overclocking and I just need some advice and tips how I can improve my system.

At the moment Ive just brought my first Quad Core, Which has a Q6600 Chip.

Computer Spec:

XFX Nforce 680i SLI Motherboard
Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4ghz X4 (Overclocked at 2.99Ghz)
Gforce 9600 GT Graphics (512MB)
4GB RAM (0 Slot Left)
Litescribe DVD Burner
DVD Reader
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream (Black Case)
149 GB HHD

Well I've been reading on the internet that Q6600 Chips have been overclocked to around 4Ghz on Air... Without Watercooling !

I was wondering if I could do the same... Any Advice which heatsink I can get which Will work on my Motherboard ? Also which has the Best (Air Flow)

Because at the moment I've got it overclocked at 2.99Ghz on standard socket heatsink.

No Major Load.. On CPU - But When playing games I can hit around 60C - 65C

Thanks looking forward to hear from you

Hi and welcome

Theres all sorts of cooler advice that can be given, depends on your budget and what you want (performance/quietness) as well as if it will actually fit your board/case
The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is good "budget" cooler at £17
Next is the titan fenrir, excellent cooler but not quietest £33
Then top range youve got the likes of the Noctua and eitehr a TRUE or megahelems with 120mm additional fans such as P12 - looking 55-60quid here

Thanks for the advice: I really dont mind if the CPU Fans make a lot of noise, as long as its works and makes the system run smoother ?
