Hi, Im overclocking my system but need info to what calculation etc I need to work out Ht,NB, Ram, cpu and dividers.

Im currently running a 955@ 3.4Ghz 35c to about 57c underload I dont want the temperature to exceed much past 60c ideally.

I have a 790Fx Motherboard, so what speeds can I expect from the HT link and NB etc.
Ram is 7-7-7-20 @567.67Mhz what is the maximum speed for this patriot pc12800 @1600 2x2GB.

Many thanks to anyone that can provide info/links for me to work out the ideal setting. I dont want to run the board/Ram at its max but I want the best of out of my cpu ideally not exceeding 60c load.

also if my motherboad says support for 1333/1066 MHz but also 1666+ (OC) does this mean i can run my patriot 1600 @ its full speeds respectfully while maintaining this oc on the cpu and ht/nb?

lol thanks for your replys, Im struggling on nothing program wise :D. Its just my motherboard is able to go @1666 and if my Ram is 1600 and only running at 1120 then Im sure there's room for improvement :D.

I done a bit of research and from what I can find is that

HT 3 Speeds are 5200Mt = 2600Mhz
Motherboard can (oc) the Ram to around 1500, using the x6.6 multiplyer its listed as being able to cope to around the 1666+ mark soo If I use the x6.6 multi for the ram will it cope with this?
If I need to adjust the Ram voltage at all what is its V limit, and is there any knock on affects im missing out here?

Cheers

base clock 213 x17
1.344v
Ram 1120

idle 39c load not fully tested but did slowly reach 60c dont think it will increase from there yet.

ok Ive tested everything, for me a comfortable overclock load will not exceed 60c on standard air cooled system so here's my results.

max cpu, posts at 4Ghz requires you to up [email protected] the temps go up 10c @3.7, so on an air I was happy with standard voltage (1.35v)@ 3.6Ghz 60c load

I left the HT/NB @2Ghz
and have the Ram up to 1600Mhz and system is stable.

overall I think Im gonna leave it at that, the system is fast as it is :D
