Overclocking noob, what am I doing wrong

Write im using a C2D E6600, Zelman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower, Gigabyte DS4 and 2GB of Geil PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency.

Ive been trying to do a bit of overclocking and I keep seeing people saying they’re taking their E6600’s up to 3.4, 3.5, 3.6Ghz and more. Yet I only seem to be able to get to about 2.8 - 3Ghz stable. Ive took a few pic of my bios settings. It might be easyer for some of you overclocking pro’s to spot something ive done wrong. I would like take it to about 3.3-3.4Ghz ish.

BTW there is a Red message flashing in between "memory preformance enhance" and "system voltage control" saying "System voltage not optimised"

Firstly lock your PCI-E freq to between 100 and 105.

Use the x8 or x9 multiplier.

Then raise your vcore a bit. Mine needs 1.5v to be stable at 3.6Ghz. BUT keep an eye on your temps.

Disable the No-Execute Memory Protect and Virtualization Tech options.

You can also disable the Legacy USB option if you don't use early USB items. That option seems to help a lot of peoples overclocks.

And you can ignore the "System voltage not optimised" warning. It's only there to scare n00bs.

My 6600 struggles to get over 3.1 with any voltage applied to the core.
Will sit nicely at 3GHz with default volts though.

Only way to get it stable at 3.4GHz (and also run at 3.6GHz but too hot for me) is to also increase the (G) MCH and FSB voltage to +0.2v.
Doing that allows me to see 3.4GHz with 1.3250v set for the CPU.

Red message is quite normal as your not using the Auto settings for the volatage and have set +0.3v for the ram.
