Hey guys,

Recently I been playing around with my graphics card trying to get the best performance I can from it and im completely new to overclocking graphics cards. I have experience with cpu overclocking but thats easy stuff lol
So my problem is that I can increase the core clock speed but not the memory clock speed.
As I was new when I started I searched around and found a few different programs to OC with, such as, rivatuner, ntune and evga precision.
The first program I started with was ntune and it was going well up untill the memory clock speed kept resetting itself every time I applied the new speed. I searched some more and realised that there were better programs so I downloaded Rivatuner. This was working well also and I managed to get the clock speeds to 400/700 with no artifacting and good temps. After playing some games and testing it out I was done for the day. When I booted up the next day Rivatuner had reset and now I can only increase the core clock speed and not the memory. like ntune, every time I click apply it applies the setting then when i click ok it resets them.
At first I thought it might be the different programs that I had installed were clashing so I uninstalled them but the problem was still there.

Could you please help me with this problem.
Any questions just ask and feel free to give a beginner some tips.

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

Personally i would'nt even bother. It's a terrible card and any performance gain will be minimal. If you still want to try most people use MSI Afterburner these days.

Thanks :)

Yea I know, Its a pretty old card but I searched around and people were getting some pretty good gains for how old it is. Just a shame I couldn't unlock the extra 4 pipes. And I figured I would get some overclocking experience with a card were it doesnt matter too much if it goes kaput! lol
I will try that program too. I've heard of it but I reckon im still gonna get the same problem. seeing as it happens on all 3 programs that I tried already. There must be a system setting somewhere to stop it or maybe I just overclocked it too much and it doesnt want to work no more lol.
