heys guys i have been having fun with my old 9800xt before i upgrade the end of this month. basicly i have chucked on a thermaltake gpu wc and got the temp down to 34c full load and overclocked the card to 400 core and 412 memory but if i go any higher that that i get artifacts the good old red and white spot's on the 3d view and while playing fear any ideas i want to run this baby till shes nearly on fire lol any ideas on how i can get her to go faster with no artifacts.
cheers

edit: im using ati tool for my overclocking.

its def an 9800xt it starts at 411/365 but i had to slow the core down to 400 as if i go higher i get artifacts in games such as fear ,i thought it was the temp of the card as it was running at 80c full load so i took the stock cooler off and placed a wc gpu block on the gpu and got it in the low 30's now but to my dismay its no better. im guessing its the age of the card nearly 5 years old now im not to worryed as im upgrading in july to a whole new system quad core 6800/wc gtx 8800 oc/asus striker extream.
i just wanted to have some fun and oc the card but i think its at its limits.

might be a sligh manufacturing defect causing low core volts...

there are plenty of volt mod guides arround, including ones for pencil-mods iirc.
my old 9800 pro (r350 core :() used to do about 5 mhz over stock on the stock cooler (which is about the size of a postage stamp! i miss those days) i bolted on an arctic cooler and it did ~420, went to watercooling (koolance gpu180) and it did about 445mhz.

volt modding is your way forwards anyway!

i thought it might be something to do with the volts but im not really bothered its going the end of the month so i will just potter around till i get my new system.
cheers vance
