Hi,

I have had this laptop for a couple of days and it really is a monster piece of kit. Last night I thought I would try the advertised pre-configured overclock on the CPU to bring it up to 4Ghz but couldn't see how to do it.
I found an MSI article which says I should be able to do it from the Dragon Gaming App but I don't get the options mentioned in the article for changing the multiplier, it just lets me change from Eco to normal to Sport mode.
Does anyone with the same laptop have any tips, I haven't mucked about with the BIOS yet and maybe I have to enable something there.

Any help would be appreciated as I have not had the opportunity to play with it very much.

Cheers,

JudgeC

I have the GT72 6QE 265UK Which model of 6QE laptop do you have?
Mine has a 6700HQ processor which I don't believe you can overclock it (on the stock BIOS at least). There are versions with the HK processor like this that can overclock, is it one of those?

I have the 264UK with the i7-6820HK, so it has an unlocked multiplier.
I need to have a play around with it I guess.

There are overclocking options in the BIOS to set the Multiplier up to 41 but I assumed there was an MSI utility to do it from within Windows and I have found reference to such on the internet. It's not really an issue as I would probably only overclock for Benchmarking at the moment, the machine is already way fast enough for anything I am throwing at it.

I have sorted it out.
It looks like the version of Dragon Gaming Centre I was running didn't have support for SkyLake. I did an update and now when I stick it in Sport Mode I can select multiplier up to 41 :D
