Overclocking one core higher than others

Hello chaps, I have a question regarding overclocking performance. Basically I currently have a 3570k which is now bluescreening having ran at 4.8 for almost 5 year straight. It’s been spot on but due to financial ties at present I can’t upgrade yet, but I have managed to get a 3770k for very cheap.

So I mostly play WoW which is a heavy CPU game, and as I understand uses more of core 1 than any others. I am also aware that generally core 1 is clocked higher than the rest as default but I have always tried to get all 4 cores the same (rightly or wrongly). My question is basically should I aim to get core 1 higher or do I try to achieve the same clock speed across all 4 cores as I have in the past?

Thanks very much :)

Managed 4.7 @ 1.3v stable. Then I tried to play and killed it along with my RAID0 (oops!)

But yeah, any feedback with regards to what’s best in terms of all cores being clocked the same or staggered for performance?

Cheers

I'd first try to identify why it's become unstable, could be a thermal issue .. Have you checked temps?
What blue screen error are you getting?

It was my RAM being a pain the first time round. Currently sitting at 4.8ghz @ 1.375v

But I have it set to 4.8ghz all the time rather than using the turbo boost settings.

Is it better to have it set at 4.8 all the time or set the base clock to 3.5 and the turbos to 4.8? Or even stagger the Turbo speeds like 4.8/4.8/4.7/4.6
