My old setup is in my sig and ive recently added the following

Opteron 146 CACJE 0604
MSI K8N NEO2
Arctic Freezer 64 Pro

im totally new to clocking a64`s so this is all fairly new to me
i got it all up and running on wednesday night and have had a bash at overclocking
ive currently got the cpu running at 2500MHz with the ram 1:1 with 2-5-3-3-6 timings ( just a single 512mb geil value ) all voltages at stock

My questions are, firstly, what sort of overclock should i really be able to achive on this opteron? Do most hit 2.8?

Can i run three dimms in my motherboard? ( manual warns against this )

If i dont and simply get another 512mb geil value will it run dual channel and will this affect how well the memory clocks? ie does memory clock better in single channel ?

Are there any good guides to clocking this motherboard, ive heard people say it should easily do 300fsb but when i try that the pc wont boot ?

Is there an easy way to clear cmos without messing about with jumpers? ( i think my nf7-s you held 'insert' on startup )

i was hoping to hit about 2.4-2.5 but since its doing that easily hopefully with your help i can acheive fx-57 speeds

can i run my two 256mb with my single 512mb? or will this damage the board and/or dimms like the manual states can happen?
if not ill have to get another 512mb of geil value (hopefully that will do 250 at same timings) since i cant afford 2gig right now

im having difficulty getting stability at 2.8 with mem on a 100mhz divider
ive tried reducing mem timings to 3-4-4-8 2t to rule out the memory and im unsure whether the board wont do 280fsb or the cpu wont do 2.8ghz
it boots to windows ok but fails superpi after a few seconds
when i try changing cpvid to 1.55 (the bios max, 1.b bios) it says 1.424 volts in cpuz, but if i add the cpuvid % overvolt it seems to increase the voltage that way
does anyone have any ideas on whats up with the cpu voltage? and also on how to best find the max fsb of the board?

ok ive been messing about a fair bit and my opty runs superpi at 2.8ghz no probs, mem on 100mhz divider (140mhz) with loose timings of 3-4-4-8
however, if i try to run a 133 or 166 divider ( 187mhz or 233mhz ) the system wont boot despite it being stable at 250mhz at timings of 2.5-3-3-6 when run at a 200mhz divider
what does this mean? does my ram not like any divider other than 200mhz or 100mhz ?
will another bios give me a 150mhz or 183mhz to try?
does the board not like dividers?

also on a side note i managed to boot into windows and run superpi at 295fsb with a low multi however, on reset the pc wont boot most of the time, at 290 its fine so im guessing ive hit my max fsb

ive got an arctic cooling freezer pro 64
temps are case 11c cpu 33c idle but bios reports higher temps by about 10c and load adds about another 10c on so id say cpu is more like 50c+ load than the reported 40ish
