My mate has this combo :

MSI K9NSLI PLATINUM

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 AM2 2.2GHz

Crucial 1GB 240Pin DIMM PC2

Any idea's how well, if at all, that will overclock ?

Cheers

Having never used AMD before is it just the same as Intel overclocking ? ie. raising FSB, RAM voltage if necessary and loosening timings ?

Cheers

well yes, just you have to watch the HTT (1000 is stock iirc? or is that changed now with AM2?)

Drop the mem onto a 133 divider or 166 or something and crack up the CPU :)

Depending on cooling. All X2's can clock to between 2.8ghz and 3.4ghz.

My X2 3800 (Toledo) will do 3.2 suicide but only 2.8ghz stable. And that's a poor clocker!
