Overclocking Problem :D

Not so much as a major issue, but it's bugging me, basically i have an e8500, 3.16ghz, and when i boot it, it boots at 3.16ghz, but if i overclock it to 3.8ghz for example, it will just stop, reboot, go back to 3.16ghz, however if i let my pc get into windows, then reboot and overclock again, i can get it to 4.0ghz, super stable, but the next time i turn my pc on it's back to 3.16ghz, anyway to make it stick :< ?

are you overclocking in windows or the bios?

Bios, it's a gigabyte mATX one, cost about £40 ish, maybe g33 or something

Like, after i leave it off for a few hours, then turn it on, it tries to boot at the last clock speed, then fails, restarts back at default.

Did you change any voltages?

Sorry, forgot about this thread haha, yeah i set the voltage to 1.32v in bios.
