Im running a Q6600 G0, ASUS Maximus Formula, OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Reaper at 4-4-4-15, Zalman CNPS9700-NT, and OCZ GameXtreme 850w.

I'm pretty new to overclocking so I followed some basic guides on the net and tested around with some settings, but I just want to make sure this looks "normal" to people.

My goal was to get to 3.4ghz and the only way I've managed to achieve this so far is by setting fsb to 380 and having to push the vcore up to 1.5v. Is this a bit too high? As far as my temps go they seem ok and are idle at

Asus PC Probe and CPU-Z don't seem to be accurately reporting the voltage which is weird. Haven't tried stress testing it yet but will tonight.

Well just ran orthos for about a minute and got a BSOD error. I cant seem to get over 3.1ghz and keep it stable without really pushing the vcore up and even then its evidently not stable.

Seems very high volts for 3.4

I only need 1.44V for 3.8 ghz stable on my Q6600 GO. Is yours a GO?

You say cpu-z doesnt seem to show voltage right? This is normal as it shows voltage in windows, should be just less than V in bios. Do you have speedstep disabled? Make sure you do

From what ive read of other posts in the forum the concensis seems to be to lock the memory at thier default speed as well as adding a little volts to the NB and SB to get a more stable Overclock with the Q6600 Go past 3.2

That is a lot of volts for that speed.

But looking at Coretemp you have a very high VID Q6600 which could account for the lackluster clocking.

My Q6600 takes 1.4125V to do 3.4Ghz, and 1.4325V for 3.5Ghz.

Mine needs 1.5v to hit 3.6Ghz and still isnt prime stable, yet it will do 3.1Ghz stable at 1.3v.

Your temps look good, mine is only at 3.3Ghz atm and idles at 35+

I set my ram to its default 4-4-4-15 timings running 1:1 ratio to FSB, I had it running at 5:6 a few hours ago at 3ghz and it BSOD while running prime so I guess its something to do with the RAM. As far as volts for NB and SB I haven't really fiddled.

This info is from idle, getting the CPU to 3ghz with volt settings set to AUTO, I haven't stress tested it now but will do.
