Bus speed 425
1700.2 fsb
Mem voltage 1.9v
Max core temp under load 49

Tried for 3.8 but bombs out with vid at 1.25 in bios, have not changed other settings, anyone give me any idea of what to try?

Bye,

Ian….

Which Corsair XMS6400?

If it's the CAS5 then it may well be past its limit at just shy of 900mhz. If it's the CAS4 version then you'll need to set the memory voltage to 2.1v and try again.

Otherwise it may just be a case of not enough CPU voltage, or one of the three chipset voltages (PLL, VTT or Northbridge).

Thanks for the replys, in Everest info on the memory is:
DIMM1: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz) there are 2 of them so i expect this is the cas 5 one and maybe need to get some quicker stuff any recomends?,to Mr sayso thanks for the info.

Bye,

Ian...

I only have Cas 5 800mhz ram and my Q9550 is running at 4Ghz. The ram if have is Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX. My CPU runs at 4ghz with 1.26v through it and my ram runs at 940 with 2.1v through it.

Here is a screeny after 9 hours of running prime95

CPU is water cooled but temps are still low even for water.

^^

I think you have realtemp using 95 tjmax, should be 100 iirc.

Does that mean my temps are actually 5 degrees higher than stated or that I just have further to go to the max? I used a newer beta version of realtemp but the temps it gave were all over the place so I went back to using this one.

Yeah according to RealTemp, if i set to correct 100tjmax they report 5 degrees higher than at 95. You can change it by clicking settings then "set tj max".
