I'm in the process of clocking my x2 4400

I am currently in the process of lowering the multiplier and upping the FSB.

What is a ''common'' clock for the CPU?

Also, probably silly question, but do you clock both core's Or does it automatically adjust both?

I had mine to 2.7GHz SnM stable using 270x10 and memory on a divider (166/200 I think it was). My first one only hit 2.5GHz on air (bought when they first came out) and ran much hotter.

Recent ones have been quietly clocking better than the 170s as far as I can tell.

Right, I know where to lower the multiplier, but which option is it to lower the FSB? I can't find it in the BIOS.

I have the ASUS A8N32-SLI mobo

Cheers!

Change Overclock Profile to Manual (as far as I can remember) and then change CPU Frequency to whatever you want it (should be Auto or 200MHz I think before you start).

What I thought, i changed to 230 but it hasn't changed my CPU speed at all.

Core speed still reads 2009.0Mhz after lowering multiplier to x10

Although the FSB on cpuz says 200.9 still, thats why

So what am I adjusting to 235 in BIOS?!!

I can't see anything else to adjust

That's the link between the NB and SB (funnily enough :p ), there's no benefit in overclocking that as far as I'm aware and hopefully it's locked as well so what it's set too is actually what you get.

Mine is currently at 265X10 but is running a little warm on stock cooling. I will be getting better cooling for it soon.

I had it up to 280X10 but it wasn't Prime stable and was bloody hot

Haven't got around to playing with X11 multiplier yet, will see if that makes a difference but I doubt it.

Good chip.

Stan :)

It seems the week 40-50 (2005) X2's clock well. I myself have a very good X2 4400+ CCBWE 0546SPAW @ 2.805ghz (11x255) @ 1.49v 14h dual prime stable (watercooled, dual prime load 42C).
