Just a brief spec on my machine before I start.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE 965P-DS4
CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz
Memory: Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400 TwinX (2x512MB)
Graphics: XFX GeForce 7300GS 256MB

What seems to happen when i increase the FSB of the processor is that the machine POSTs and starts to boot into windows, normally will get video corruption when I have the Windows Splash Screen and progress bar going across when it is booting windows and eventually crashes when it tries to load up windows. Even if I put the FSB to something like 300 it still seems to have problems. I will admit this is a bit of a voyage into the unknown for me, but still willing to try!

I'm just wondering if you have tried to increase the cpu/ram voltage and has this sorted out your problem?

Im suspcious because a 12% overclock (300fsb) should be very much achievable without any increase in voltages. These cpus I feel are designed to run much quicker than Intel are letting on.

I havent had a chance to read through it yet. The first stumbling block i have seen is about the locking of the AGP and PCI bus speeds.

Another question is how does the voltage affect the abilty for the overclocking?

In reply to sunama I haven't really played about the voltages because i wasn't aware that it had an affect on things.
