I had a thread on this a while back which I'm getting most of my info on, but despite all the help, I didn't have fantastic cooling so I didn't gain much, just crashes. But I've got the 10.8 drivers, and a new case fan pointed at the card, so hopefully I can get a little faster.
I'm a multi monitor user, stock card speeds are the usual 850/1200, idle are 400/1200 as expected. Furmark reached 68C at stock, the fan speed ramped up from 31 to 41% in that time, set to auto. idle temp is around 40C
I remember that the card downlocked while idle to 157/300 when I had an overclock set, which was unable to power a dual monitor setup so was causing problems and making it all a real hassle, but I've since found the option to set one of my AB profiles as the idle one, which will remove this problem, but I can only lower the core clock slider to 635? Is there a way I can set a lower core clock for idle?
And how hot can I let a 5770 get? It seems fairly hot as it is, do I have much headroom for overclocking?
