Right so im pretty new to this overclocking stuffs, I've managed to get it to 3.9 only by altering the multiplier and voltage. I've not touched the FSB yet not have i moved the ram from 800mhz.

I have a Thermaltake 120 Extreme air cooler and the case is well cooled. 2x 8800 Ultras, EVGA 680i A1 and 4gb of OCZ 9600.

Ive upped the ram fsb to 1066 but any higher than that and the mobo throws a wobbly.

Any tips on what i can do to make it go evvven faster?

You really need to run orthos for a few hours to see whether it really is stable or not. Overclocks can fail after a few hours and errors can show up at any time.

Prime95 and 3d mark tests are way too short to show any errors unless you were really really pushing it.

Ahhhh ok :) prime 95 was on torture test for about 30 mins and maxed out all cores if that makes any diff :S

3.9GHz under load = 48c = wow!

The Intel guys at i31 were equaly astonished that i managed to get 3.9 on air let alone the air not going over 54 degs :)

They said somthing about me getting a good chip???? thoguht they were all the same :S

What would get me higher 3dmarks thoguh? more FSB or higher multi or a combo of both?

Also somone mentioned (know idea who) that if i up the MCP (???????) speed I can get the ram to go faster :S and also upping the pci speed would increase the gfx cards or somming (no idea what im babbling about now)

Have to disable driver signing to get core temp to work, there may be another way around it too, so i've heard.

Ahhh i seee rigth working now, its at 35 - 42 degrees idle now and 48 - 58 under load, speed fan is about -10 degrees on that and the bious says about -8 degrees on that as well :S

how comes they all pick up diff temps if they all read the same sensors?

CoreTemp shows the cores on my pc slightly lower than Everest right now.

on CoreTemp - core 1 is 39
on Everest - core 1 is 43

They show the same temps for the other 3 cores

which is right?
