overclocking ram

when ever i overclock ram above what they rated at i can only get a couple of Mhz higher like 30. and i was told not to overvolt ram or they will die on me, but on cpc reviews on rams they overvolted them and relaxed settings to get high overclocks. so how do i get high ram overclocks?

also if i do overvolt how do i check temps for ram?

What kind of ram are you trying to overclock? As for temps, the only way to check is to touch the heatspreaders really...if they are hot enough to burn my fingers then I usually place a fan blowing in their direction

i don't think there is much point even overclocking the ram, i doubt you would notice the difference.

primarily askin this was for my m8 where his ram is limiting his overclock as his ram cant take it.... so yea you would see a big differnce

just drop the ram divider, so the ram runs close to stock?

ram divder was at 1:1, low as it can get... and ram stock is at 800mhz we got it to 830 before it was unstable, loosen timmings didn't help... so overvolt maybe?

yeah, should be fine but keep it around the 2.1v mark as a maximum depending on the brand.

its on 2.1v on stock XD it whats the sticker on it says... i think i might overvolt it a tiny bit like 2.2v

ah, my ram is 1.8V stock, so maybe 2.2V, 2.3V max is probably ok
