Ok well, I'm new to overclocking and I'm just wondering if any of you could give me a few suitable settings to run a q6600 at around 3ghz + stable.

My current PC stands at:

Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracers
900w OCZ PSU ( 1 x 120mm fan )
1 x GeCube ATI Radeon HD 3870 512mb GFX
Antec 900 gamer case ( 3 x 120mm fans, 1 x 200mm fan )
Thermalright-Ultra 120 Heatsink ( 1 x 120mm fan )
ASUS Maximus Formula x38 motherboard

I would really appreciate it if you could help me out here.. I'm not too keen on using the ASUS software to overclock as it tends to boost the voltages up..

So any reply would be appreciated..

Many thanks,

Adam

To get you started set your FSB to 334, multiplier to 9, PCI-E frequency to 100, memory multiplier to 2.5, that should get you to 3.0GHz :)

Thanks, i'll try it now ;)

EDIT: Nice, it worked - thanks! Now at 3.01Ghz.

If anyone else has any settings please let me know :) Would be nice to get to 3.2 - 3.4 or even higher.

My current temp at idle is around 38 - 40 degrees per core.
