Hi there, I'm not certain if any of you remember my previous thread a few days ago about my system which would not boot with the overclock settings for more than a few times before it kept on resetting.

This is my system:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-213-OE

I got it with 120GB SSD

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

A graphics ( don't think it's relevant in this case)

With the original overclock settings from Overclockers UK the system will perform fine, no problems, runs games really well. However, after a few days. When I turn the PC on it will turn on briefly and then go off, and the same thing happens for a few times until it puts me in the BIOS which is really annoying.

I've called up Overclockers UK many times for different overclocking settings but none of those seem to have solved the issue.

The system is fine when I run it without the overclock and I also performed a MEMTEST which gave no errors in the memory as well.

I was wondering if anybody here has the same system or knows overclock settings that will allow my system to run fine and always boot directly into Windows.

I read about this issue on the reviews of the system and some people seem to have had the same issue fixed really easily, however I've been calling and emailing Overclockers for about 3 weeks now with no success.

Would anybody be willing to help me out?

Thanks in advance.

my mistake just read your last post.this does seem to be oc problem and not yours you must inform them it's under their 12 months Warranty
my advice not to mess with any settings phone oc and demand them to get something done about it. for over £650 i be mad, anyway to me it seems like an cold boot problem

sounds like you have a bad backup bios. Gigabyte boards if the overclock fails try to boot from the backup bios as usually this is a copy of the one issued with the board with default settings. If this is not working properly or has bad settings then you get the problem you experience until it attempts to boot the main bios and reset the overclock itself.

One solution to try is to set your main bios with default settings so it boots fine then force the motherboard to copy the main bios to the backup bios. It also makes sure both bios are the same version too.

I am not sure how you do this on the uefi bios there may be a menu option to do it but I think on the older bios you pressed alt and f12 when booting up. Worth investigating tho.

Yeah, I bought the system around a month and a few weeks ago.

Cheers mate, and yeah it's really frustrating.

Hi there, I had a look in the BIOS and came across this:

fd33ea6a6b02d479e87a0b866b352955.png

Beforehand I had the first boot option as the INTEL Solid State Drive
The second one was the PS: TSSTcorp....
and the third was the Atheros Boot Agent

Now I made it so that there is only the one enabled.

Would this make any difference?

Cheers in advance

Look for an option in the bios called pll overvoltage. Disable it. Save and exit.

Does that fix the issue?

I found it and disabled it.

It was previously set to Auto.

I don't really know if anything has changed as the system usually always boots up fine until a certain moment.

For example, tomorrow morning I might turn the PC on and get the usual problem.

But thanks for the help just in case.

I'll update the thread if anything occurs.

Cheers

Its known to cause a double boot sometimes. However if its on auto i guess it would have been disabled anyway.

as i have said before its down to oc to sort this out,if you go messing with settings it might void the Warranty.i might be wrong but lets be safe than sorry, contact oc tech 1st and demand for the problem to be sorted, £650+ is a lot of money to lose if you go messing and void the Warranty

UPDATE:

after changing the pll over voltage to 'disabled' from its original 'auto' state the pc has been running fine and booting fine as well straight into windows. Hopefully it carries on like this as I've already emailed Overclockers about the situation and if it can't be fixed they will replace the system for me.

Cheers guys
