Hi, my A64 broke basically (Had it on a mad overclock prob did it). So i replaced it with.

Intel E5200
Asus P5K Pro
4gb Geil PC6400 Reaper Ram

Now I forgot how to overclock lol, I had my 3800X2 Toledo at 2.9ghz. I want to overclock this its currently at 2.5ghz.

I kinda remember how to overclock the A64 but this is totally different I don't know how DDR2 and the figures relate to FSB and stuff.

Any help appreciated, even links to a dummies guide will be welcome.

Im getting weird results in CPU-Z.

I've updated my BIOS and put FSB to 200 and Multiplier to 12.5 (thats stocks) and also ram at 800MHZ (also stock).

In CPU-Z my Core Speed goes from 2500.0 Mhz to 1200 Mhz, Multiplier changing from 12.5 to 6.

Also I noticed ram says at 400Mhz but at 1/2 ratio? Isn't that 1/1 ratio? I'm worried that my pc is running below half the speed it should be! Is there any quick benchmark out that I can check just to see if its performing at stock?

Yeah, think i'll turn it off when overclocking and once I find a stable clock i'll put it back on to see if its stable, think I got my head round how it works nice thanks. Will post with my results later.

Right just been having a quick go, upto 3.4ghz at 1.275volts, my 2nd core is very very weak compared to my first. But CPU-Z again reports different voltage than my bios at 1.25, same as Asus Probe that says 1.25. Which is right my bios or the programs? What typical volts do people run these at 24/7? Just wondering what my limit should be.

My pc cooling is terrible have a coolermaster wavemaster thats being no help to this overclock and I got the Akasa AK-965BL Blue LED CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) one of the cheapest coolers around lol.
