Hi,
I have just set this board up with a Q6600 and 4Gig of OCZ 6400 XTC RAM.

All works sweet and at stock.

I have read somewhere that to get into the motherbaord memory options you need to do a CTL-F1. However this doesn't do squat. I can access the bios with F12 but can't seem to see any advanced memory options.

Also, there is a utility with the MM that allows you to tweak the clocks and speeds. YOu can fiddle with the memory. CPU and PCI bus speed and all voltages. I dont intend on using this yet (want to get everything 100% stable first) but will this application write to the BIOS from windows? I didn;t think that was possible?

Gee, I have a lot to learn !!

Steve

No it won't write to the BIOS from Windows.

Press CTRL and F1 together on the main BIOS screen to unlock the other memory options in the overclocking menu.

Thanks Cob. I was doing *** CTL-F1 upon bootup, not when already in the BIOS !!!

So whats *** reason for *** overclocking tool that can;t write to the bios? Is it to perform a "running" check so you knwo it will work and then you can modify the BIOS as and when?

Cheers.

For safety purposes you can't write to the BIOS from Windows (tho you can ofcourse flash the entire BIOS ROM from within Windows).

Imagine if a virus could interfere with your BIOS and the damage it could do.
