I have just upgraded my Q6600 to Q9550 and having problems overclocking.

I had my Q6600 B3 @ 3Ghz with a slight inc in voltage.

I've had a go at clocking my Q9550 but can only get it to 2.9Ghz. Any higher and it crashes at the desktop.

I have tried a number of different settings in the bios but to no avail.

I could be missing somthing but any advice would be appreciated.

If anyone can recommend some settings I could try it would be great.

Thanks

Am running same CPU. Board is a P5k Premium(not sure if it makes any difference !)
To get it to run at 3.4 set fsb @400, ram as ddr2 1066(altered ram voltage from auto to 2.1) and left everything else at auto.
Then downward adjusted cpu voltage to lower level but still stable - about 1.192v.
Hopefully the above will help.
P.S. did notice when clocking fsb it auto clocked the ram which I then had to re-adjust. To start with couldn't get it clocked at all because of this.

Have the same CPU running here but with the P5Q-E board (also not too sure what difference that will make). Have same settings as AgedIdiot said, running 3.4 stable with cpu core voltage at 1.200v (CPU-Z).

Had a play around with the voltages in the BIOS and took some off AUTO as had read that this board overvolts a bit..

NB 1.16v and SB 1.1v

Re ran Prime95 on small and blend and it's holding stable... Been folding with it for 3 days straight and no restarts..
