Afternoon folks,

I recently purchased an new psu and I'm looking to overclock my X4 925. The M4A77TD mobo has auto OC options which I'm currently using. This gives a max of 10% OC without having to fiddle the settings myself.

I've read the beginners guide and a few other overclocking guides but still find myself at a loss as to how to go about getting started.

Is it worth doing it manually? Will I get much more than 10% with a stock cooler on my CPU? Temperatures seem ok around 60ºC under load.
but I've yet to try and push it any further myself as I'm worried I screw it up.

Hey, thanks for that...

Nice links. Using AMD overdrive.

It's clocked to 3.2 atm but should i be concerned if the stability test has the core temp up at 63ºC??? :(.

anything over 62c for a prolonged period should be avoided, unless you want to burn your chip out, I'd say short periods say upto 5 minutes would be ok but i wouldn't run the risk tbh

Also FYI, you want to edit your signature down to the 4 lines the rules state :)

Ah, cheers for the heads up.

Think its best if i learn a bit more before i dive in feet first and melt my cpu to oblivion. It hit 65ºC on Prime 95. Might just leave it at the 10% auto OC and save myself the money I'll have to spend if i screw it up.
