I got my HIS 280x today and its the first card i've ever had thats been unlocked so tinkering with voltage is all a bit new to me. According to Afterburner the default voltage is 1200mV and i have no idea how much i should increase it by when i start running in to stability/artifacting issues.

I've read the AMD overclocking guide linked in the sticky and it doesn't seem to mention memory overclocking, just core speeds. Does this mean that memory speeds should be left well alone?

Most cards could OC decently with stock voltage, so I'd start there at first until you run into stability issues, then start bumping voltage. But it really depends on the OC you're aiming for as the former could be a lengthy process. If you have a number in your mind start there and add volts until you run it stably. I looked at the boards and saw what most people are volting for my sought OC and started there then tweaked accordingly.

You could OC memory but it's rather pointless especially if you're not running insane resolutions, I tend to ignore it altogether.
 
Thanks for that. I went back over the guide in the sticky and noticed that there is a section on voltage, not quite sure how i missed it the first time! :)
