There are memory settings in the BIOS. Change them from automatic to unlinked and tweak away. Look arund the forums for the kind of settings other people have used and also check for FSB holes (FSB speeds where the board is unstable but strangely become stable again when pushed higher).
theres bios holes on my evga 680i from about 1668QDR to about 1720ish can't boot into post of past post from 3.75ghz till 3.9ghz grr but 3.9 even 4.05ghz will boot into windows and orthos stable for an hour or so
