I'm brand new to overclocking never done it before. I'm running a e2160 on an asus p5k and OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 . I want to get the cpu to run at about 2.5. I've had alook at the beginners guide on the forums and then noticed that their is this little ai booster program that looks like it can change the settings I need to. Will this be usable to do what I want to do? What other programs will I need from that list in the thread if I use this tool? Or would I be better off just going into the BIOS and doing it?

Edit: Anyone done a similar thing and knows the FSB/voltage etc that will get it just below 2.5 so I have a rough idea what I am going for?

Although i'm no expert, i'm pretty sure that you're better to oc in the bios.
I believe the Asus ai program is not the best from what i've read.
You shouldn't find it too difficult to achieve such a smallish oc even for someone with limited experience.

I have tried the Asus software on my striker II formula and you are definitely better off not using it. It worked ok for me o'cing Q6600 for a modest overclock but is pretty limited and i wasn't learning anything. It didn't manager to get beyond 3.0ghz without instability. Read around and did it in bios and i am now 0.5ghz higher OC, stable and happier that i did it myself.
