hi all, i have an e6600 at 3.2ghz with the ram at 1:1 so its 712mhz (due to 356fsb). anyway, when the cpu is at 320fsb and ram divider at 2.5 the ram should be at 800mhz, and cpu at 2.88ghz, yet it wont post. is this divider fussy o nthe ds3??
also i would like to increase the speed of my ram to around 900mhz. has anyone with 800mhz giel 2gb done this?? i would do it myself if it was anything else but thers timings and votlages etc and ive had very abd experiences with ram stability when overclocked in the past even tho it was a diff build completely. what are yous set to?? mines currently 1.8v 4-4-412, thanks :)

I had the same problem. Had to change the Ram to 5-5-5-18 to get it to post.

Seem very stable now...no idea why it wouldnt work. I have the same setup as you

I've set the multi to 8 and the FSB to 400 for a 3.2 overclock of the 6600 on stock volts, and the RAM is bang on 800 with a 2 divider @ 4,4,4,12. for me, perfect! :D Although at dinner time I just experimented with changing the timings for a faster latency, and now I'll have to clear the CMOS because it just hangs  C'est la vie!

what volts is that?? the DS3 is 1.8v for ram stock right??
also i cant seem to get stable above 390ish fs. did u have any probs jongeeone??

also what ya mean by didnt post kilvano. mine turned on but on the xp loady bit random bsods, resets and it almost always crashed during the xp tune during laoding was rely rely unstable

Yea i did have some probs, the first set of ram i had from ocuk was duff and had to be RMA'ed, it wouldnt run above 400, this set i got now is fine, runs stabled @ 880mhz, 2.1volts - it will run higher but im not risking it :)

above 400 thats slow! mine runs at 800 fine. i got it to psot and load xp ok at 890mhz at 1.8v with auto settings which made it 5-7-7-23  it failed orthos after a few seonds but adding 0.1v solved that. im going to go fot 5-5-5-15 ithink at 890mhz. i also tried 4-4-4-12 but wudnt even post at 1.9v (obviously:p) my question is:

Whats quickest 712mhz 4-4-4-12 or 890mhz 5-5-5-15??

still no1 with any comment on my failure2 exceed 390fsb no matter what the cpu multi is?

PC6400 needs 2.1v (+3) to run at 800Mhz 4-4-4-12.

And 890mhz 5-5-5-15 will be faster than 712mhz 4-4-4-12 on an Intel board.

not yet. wildo at sum point tho its orthos stable cpu and ram at 880mhz for several hours. even with the ram set to 1:1 at 390mhz fsb (780 ram) it craps out. ithink its the motherboard, probably a setting somewhere, altho beats me what it could be. i read something about conroes hitting an fsb wall?? maybe that?? or maybe the chipset just gets hot as its burning hot to tutch as it is
