Whats the best way to overclock an X1800XT?

I had some issues with the Catalyst Control centre so Uninstalled it as I kept getting errors whenever my pc started up or when I came out of a game. Since then everything has been fine.

Also when I start ATI Tool my PC sometimes restarts itself for some reason.

The card im using is the Connect3D X1800XT 256MB, anyone else had problems like this?

Just tried using Ati Tool again, after just watching temps for a while and changing fan speeds my screen was completely white with green lines down the middle, forcing me to reboot. No idea why as I havnt seen any other cards with this problem. Its definatley not faulty as it plays games perfectly, it just wont allow me to overclock :p

With this card ATITool is problematic to say the least, so just using CCC Overdrive myself, what clocks are causing the problems? Or are you getting issues no matter how small the OC?

get the max 690/800 clocks that overdrive offers no problems, as does most other people who use overdrive with this card iirc. May not be the best clocks this card is capable of, but untill AtiTool supports it without the issues CCC will do, not a bad performance increase either imo :)

Ive just reinstalled CCC and still getting this error again, think Ill try removing all ATI Software, and the .NET Framework and try again

Use Driver Cleaner Pro too (I believe it's most effective if you boot into safe mode) on all ATI related files. Use it after uninstalling drivers and CCC. Make sure you uninstall everything ATI related too and ATI Tools and ATI Tray Tools if you have them installed.

Ok just used driver cleaner pro in safemode and reinstalled all, and its still doing it :( . Ah well, I cant be bothered to format again so Ill just leave CCC uninstalled and run at stock.
