Hi all i want to overcloock my cpu but i am a beginer my spec is
Mobo p5n e sli 650i
cpu E6750 conroe dual core
Memory 2 2gb ocz 6400 800mhz
vista os
2 8800 gts 320mb
500gb sata hard drive
I dont want to overclock to the max but 3.2 would be nice if anyone can help that would be great

Have a read of the overclocking sticky's on this page.

Increase the FSB a little at a time, reboot and and run Orthos or Prime to check for stability.
If ok increase the FSB more until your happy with the clock speed, but you will proberly need to change the memory ratio to keep at 800mhz ~ and up the cpu core voltage, use CPU-Z to check your current core voltage.

Use core temp or real temp to check core temps during testing, I would keep each core under 70c~

Hopefully the above should shed some light.

Thanks for quick reply i did try uping my fsb but i got it upto 1373 then i booted into windows and got the screem do i need to lower my memory froo 800mhz to 667 it seem quit tricky

When you increase the FSB this increases the memory speed as well, by changing the memory multiplier / ratio this allows you to keep the memory at std speed, some memory can run above there stated speed, but in my option I rather keep the memory at std speed.

Drop the memory to 667 and raise the FSB, you then see the memory speed increase.

just try every option one at a time and see what works.....its fun, trust me occasionaly magic happens!
