I'm a gamer and i'm intending to put together a ~£3500 computer (includes all peripherals and monitors etc). Anyway for that budget I can get some top end processor unit so is overclocking one of those worthwhile?

Main purpose of my machine is of course gaming. Single screen 24" preferably. Do any games currently on the market actually require overclocking (of the top end processors) and is it worth it anyway?

it depends on the game and res etc, but generally yes overclocking will increase framerate so its worth doing, dont forget a nice ssd^^

for single screen 120hz im guessing, you might struggle to spend all that

open a "Spec me" thread in general hardware, stating what you will be using the pc for.
there are a few guys who will design a good gaming pc for you.

edit. thats if you intend to build it yourself, which you should ;-)
