Hi all...

ive just ordered a 6600 Conroe, Gigabyte DS3 and a Scythe Ninja.

i was wondering would i be able to get good overclocks with this rig?

Im hoping to get over 3ghz at least.

c

yep decent mobo.... decent cooler.... and with the overclocks the 6600 has been getting should be able to clock it to 3.0ghz fairly easily if not more.

I have a ds4, e6300 and scythe ninja. Currently running 3.15Ghz at 1.33v (stock is 1.325) and load temp is 43 degrees.

The 6300's and 6400 are 2MB cache the 6600 and above are 4mb cache. Apparently the Asus PW5 DH is better with the E6600 and above and the gigabytes better for the E6300's and 6400's

He saying that its a bad choice :p

Anyways; I just ordered a similar rig to you OP. E6300, DS3, and a Ninja as I've been promised it will hit 3GHz at a minimum with the DDR2-800 mem I ordered. :) Should be great.

Yeah I am using the supplied fan and it is very quiet. Worth noting that I have 5 other case fans and 2 directly behind the heatsink exhausting out the back.
