Overclocking a 5770

hi
i have a XFX 5770
anybody got any good overclock settings that make much of a difference ?

i don't know what the cooling is like on yours, but my 5770 is oc'ed nicely (see sig)

edit: oh and a big difference in games like BFBC2

ive currently clocked it to 950 core clock and 1200 memory. shall if i get any better performance out of it

My 5770s are anti OC. Any change to them makes games crash and the BSOD driver crashes

. Not fair.

950/1350 on an MSI Hawk, 50deg load, but could go a lot higher on the overclock. Difference between playable and enjoyable in demanding games

Same, it's because of the crossfire.....there fine on there own

The 5770's are great cards if like me you only have a 1680x1050 screen. such good value for money.

Really? I OC them both to the same levels which I thought would make it a-ok. Guess not...

i have read many reports about failing to overclock a 5770, to be honest i haven't really seen much difference in the performance after overclocking :/

Reason why you can't OC the GPU is because they're already pretty close to there maximum clock. ie 900 (950 if you're extremely lucky) This leaves memory as the only way to gain any substantial OC, which is totally dependent on what Ram on the card.

It's shocking to thing how crippling it is for a card to lose half its Memory bus speed.
