I recently replaced my wife's old GPU with an Asus Strix 970 and it's running great. Out of curiosity I gave it a little nudge of +150 core and +100 memory in Afterburner and noticed FPS in WoW instantly rose by by 6 FPS.

Anyone got any experience overcolocking these cards? And what sort of numbers did you get for a decent boost?

You'll probably find that the memory clock can be pushed a bit higher, but that's a pretty good core overclock IIRC. What other settings did you put into Afterburner, upped power limiter and voltage at all?

***edit***

Guru3d overclocked one when they reviewed it.
Literally just bumped the two clocks to see what sort of gain it may give, haven't touched any power limits. Tha KS for the link, I'll take a look!

Is there a better way to OC GPUs other than Afterburner? My MSI 970 came with a flashed BIOS and pretty high overclock, not looking to do anything like that on here though.

No worries.

Afterburner is pretty much the go-to tool for GPU overclocking given how straightforward it makes it. You could probably bang the Guru3d settings straight in and it would work, then it's your call if you feel like trying to push it higher. Just don't make huge leaps (go up 10-20 MHz at a time) and test in-between.
