overdrive

i have an x1800xt since installing cat 6.3 my over drive no longer works, says its not intialized at this time try again later.

any ideas or should i go back tp cat 6.2 or try omega or whatever drivers

I wouldn't loose any sleep over it mate , Overdrive clocks the card by a minute amount that it aint worth bothering with , Just use a proper OC app like ATItool .

I didn't think atitool works with the x1800 and x1900s because of the 2D/3D speed switching.

I assume you used driver cleaner etc after uninstalling the 6.2s. Have you tried re-installing. Overdrive works fine with 6.3s on my X1800xt, although I haven't tried the autodetect since upgrading...

ATI tools wont work for me. Niether will the overclock program. I get artifacts at 645 on the core. But I can do 690 with overdrive. It seems to be different for everyone.

Im currently trying the overdrive thing in the 6.3's. I may actually stop it shortly as it seems to be going up and up with no sign of stopping

GPU speed is currently at 925Mhz requested and still going.

Mem still at 792 requested but overdrive hasnt started on that..............yet.

lol. it doesnt run a 3d test im presuming. How has overdrive taken it to 925 anyway I can only take mine to 690. My core is currently fine at 650mhz and memory at 780mhz (1560mhz) so a 30 and 60mhz increase. Ill try for more tonight i think.

Personally id test it with 3d mark 05 and 06 then go higher. then test etc

The latest ATItool doesnt work for my x1900xt either so I use overdrive to take it to 670/780.

If overdrive isn't working - make sure the ati services are running especially ati hotkey poller and restart the pc.

I bottled it, it was still happily chugging away when i finally stopped it at 1004mhz

Card is currently flashed to XTPE with an Acelero2 fitted

Really not 100% (lol, not even 40%) sure what im doing with these cards so think im gonna leave it as is for the time being (650/800)

its under a ratio useing that, thats why what ever you get on the core/memory in that, you probably wont get it useing ati clocker ect....

overdrive uses a diffrent method for finding the highest clock speed that what you select in ati clocker, the moral is for 1/1 clocks ati clocker for clocks under a ratio overdrive !

i havent used it to find the highest clock speed, ive simply had a stab in the dark at 650core and +30ddr on the memory
