I have a friend who has an xp1900 athlon overheating after 10-20 secs, he has changed the sink and fan, reseated with new thermal paste, he has 2 x 80mm fans in the case, one front one back, thermal protection disabled in bios, side off now too
any good ideas?, don't know the specs on board etc but the sink is rated to 2600, am I missing something obvious?

he can't tell, only that it is hot!, I know that doesn't help much but mmmmm.
will have to get this lump bought to me I reckon, just wondered if someone might say.... that's the ???? just do this!
