Hello
I was playing far cry 3 on steam and all of the sudden my pc shuts down and won't turn back on

I had been playing far cry 3 for about a week now and it's been fine however I had messed around with the setting and had around 60fps regardless but this time turned the post fx to ultra and frames buffed to 5 and was around 50-60 however after about 10 mins the above happened

I assume it's not the psu as the USB slots are working and there was no bang or such

The reason I think it's overheated is because the 560ti sli (2) are next to each other with a sound card next too
The board is extreme3 990fx with fx8120 and v6gt cooler with 2 stock fans (it came with 2 that clip on)

Thanks, second opinions are always helpful

What PSU are you currently using?

Remove one of the GPU'S and and try a CMOS reset.

If that fails try doing the PSU test below:

All lights are on on the graphics cards however when I press the button the fans spin for .2 of a second and stop

Ok I did the test with 1 fan and it spun for .25 of a second and stops and have to switch the psu on and off to get it to do the same again, im thinking now that it is indeed dead but don't know how USB worked and graphics cards gave green lights

5V standby power works with the power supply in stand
So if it powers on and shuts down with only one fan it is clear dead RIP
