overheating issue

My cpu is currently idle at 50 and during COD4 sessions reaches 80 and shutsdown, its becoming a joke. I've replaced the stock cooler with an arctic64 which is supposed to be fantastic at first it idled at 39 and seemed to be great now its back up to 50!

Cleaned the case of dust & replaced the stock cooler anything else i can try?

is there anyway of turning off the auto-shutdown too?

I have a really small case, antec lanboy so the airflow isn't great but i leave both side panels off.

Just got the case fans that come with it although i have another 120mm fan i bought that i could replace one of them with.

Yeah i have the cooler facing right next to the back fan blowing air out, i did originally put it on the wrong way its just strange how my computer goes from idling 39 too 49 over a week.

I'm using the pre-applied stuff that came with it (only fitted it last week).
