I've just put a computer together, but I've found it's freezing about 3 or 4 mins after booting, I checked the computer temps and the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) temperature is crazy! It's up at 109 degrees C, I've checked around and 65 seems the norm. Other temperatures seem about normal, CPU ~60, system ~ 35. Any idea what's causing it to be so high? System specs:

Abit i-45cv socket 775 motherboard
Pentium 4 3.4GHz
Kingston 512mb DDR2 533MHz

Thanks!

It may be defective sensor or BIOS might require a re-flash, CPU temp seems a bit high.
Is it possible to blow a fan on the PWM's and see if tht helps.

The PWM temperature is the temperature of the power regulating chips I believe, not actually part of the processor. And 60 degrees was the processor temp after about half an hour of being switched on. I've since installed a 2.9GHz celeron, which works fine, it just seems to be that it can't handle a P4 with that power requirement. Are there any settings I might be able to play with to get the temperature under control, like processor voltage?
