Overheating shutdown problem

Ok, I know exactly what is wrong. I just don't know how to solve it.

My laptop is getting old. Its nearly 4years old and as such now has thermal issues.
I work from home so I use it 24/7 virtually, and during the day it's fine. Come the evening when my exothermic housemate comes home and stick the heating on  it warms up, and under full load will just completely shutdown. Bang, power goes. (which I can only assume is cpu failsafe) I know from cpu temps, it's hitting 90c

I know I could solve this by just punching my housemate in the face and screaming, its April stop putting the heating on you ******* idiot, but my mum taught me if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything. :)

It is a Asus sv97gt or something, that has been rebranded by the bespoke and now bust, Rizeon, and I have taken the bottom off (I've changed many heatsinks and have silver paste here)
However I cannot get the heatsink off, and I have checked that the fan isnt caked in my own skin, removed all the screws holding the heatsink and fan, and attempted to pull it off to now joy. :(

I also will not buy a laptop cooler, as I know this will be solved if I just get some better thermal paste on there. I just need helping doing it.
Not sure why I am asking here, I just need a little help if anyone can.
So any knowledge of how lappy fans and heatsinks work, if there is a silly clip I have missed, or am I just being an idiot.

Thanks

TLDR: I cant get the heatsink off, help.

not had the asus before but all screws are out, have you tried twisting from side to side as the paste may have gone hard.

can you upload a pic of the heatsink?
