Hi all,

I have a Shuttle XPC ST20G5 - its ran well for about 5 months now without any problems. A couple of weeks ago I bought a PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GTO16 to fit inside it, everything was working fine, been playing WoW for a couple of weeks no problem at all, however yesterday with it being warm the graphics card kept cutting out (PC was still on and I could hear WoW through the speakers so thats what leads me to think its the graphics card)

Rebooted a couple of times and 10mins into WoW same thing happend, so I took the case top off the shuttle and everythings fine for hours :)

So I put this down to the card being so close to the side of the shuttle case and not getting enough air, the fan on the graphics card is slightly above the air vents on the side of the shuttle. Is there anything I can do? I was thinking of drilling some holes higher up at the same position of the fan into the side of the case.

Anything else I could try?

Cheers

my friend has an almost similar set up to you, (he has one of the so called limited edition X800 gto2 instead) and his used to get to like 70 + degrees. he's just recently put an arctic cooler on and temps dont ever go above 60 and thats at X850XT PE speeds (only clocks, not pipes yet). He is using my old SN45G case i cut a big hole out of so the cooler fits in. i was planning on making it into a window but never got round to it so left it open.

this is my current mod on my SN85G4V3 (X800pro VIVO), you could try something similar?? i still want to put a thin bit of silver trim round the edge where its been cut.

best way would be to use a dremel. i just masked off the side, marked out the shape of the cooler on it, makin sure i had about a 1cm gap all the way round so i could easily take the case off, then cut it with a fret saw and filed/sanded it down (as i dont have a dremel)

my old one (the one my friends using at the min) i just used tome tin snips from machine mart, got a pair of left's, right's and straights and just cut it like paper lol, then filed it down
