Hi all i did a post regarding a problem i had.. and i thought my computer was over heating.. well since i did that post i downloaded a program called SpeedFan 4.32 .. with abit of luck some of u may have used this program and will be able to tell me.. what the temps mean. The problem i was having was the computer would just restart itself and it could happen after 10mins or 3hrs.. but mostly when im playing games. ok ill post my specs and temps

Spec:
Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe **WiFi Edition** Nforce 590 Socket AM2 SLI Motherboard
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
1022MB RAM 667mhz
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT ddr2
WD 320 GB SATAII HD

Temps

SpeedFan 4.32

Temp1 - IT8712F - 32C
Temp2 - IT8712F - 45C (This goes over 50C then turns into a flame symbol)
Temp3 - IT8712F - 40C (This goes over 50C then turns into a flame symbol)
HD0 - HD0 - 40C
Temp1 - ACPI - 40C
Core - AMD K8 - 45C (This goes over 50C then turns into a flame symbol)

If u can help me with this i would be most greatful .. any good info on a case & fans ect.. for cooling would be nice

Thanks

Oh i hope this stuff makes sence..

Those temps are fine - they could be lower, but they shouldn't be causing problems.

Speedfans flame symbol doesn't mean anything specific. It's just a feature of speedfan to let you know when something passes a threshold.

You could if you want it set it to show something with a flaming icon when it was at 20 degrees.

What matters is how far over 50 it goes? Does anything go past 60?

And you'll want to monitor your graphics card heat too.

Also, run memtest, and post the specs of your PSU.

hi there thanks for the reply.. nothing goes past 60 not that i can see.. also the power supply is 560watts

Ill get around to doing the memtest thingy and let u know

Ok, it's fairly common for a PSU to be underpowered, the 560W rating doesn't guarantee anything - although it -should-.

Who makes the PSU?

And did you check GFX temps yet?

how do i check the GFX temps.. all the temps i can see on this program.. are in the post.. im unsure of the make of PSU.. but it did cost £55 .. so i dont think its a rubbish one..

You can check graphics card temps on the nVidia driver, one of the tabs there should be for temperatures. You may need to download nTune, as nVidia have taken temperatures away from the main graphics driver recently - I don't know if that's just for the 8 series or not.

The PSU shouldn't be causing a problem. If it cost 55 quid then you should have a decent one.

ok i found it ty .. it says my GFX is running at 65C out of 125C so that seems ok

I am a little worried tho.. because one of the censors on the motherboard is reading 48-51C .. and turns to flame symbol with that Program.. that seems abit high and dont want to dmg my motherboard

It's a little high, but it's not -too- high. A flame symbol in speedfan doesn't indicate a problem. It's just a preset threshhold, as I said you could have a 22 degree temp and a flame symbol on.... or a 100 degree temp and no flame. It's up to the way you configure the program.
